Trinity Loop: An Abandoned Amusement Park

When researching places to visit in Newfoundland, I came across an article about an abandoned amusement park called, the Trinity Loop. After reading the article and viewing their photographs, I knew I had to see it with my own eyes. The Trinity Loop is a great place to visit when you are in the Trinity area. It is a quick drive from town, there is lots to explore, spooky photo opportunities, old train cars and it may even give you the heebie geebies with its ghost town feel.

Dungeon Provincial Park

Located on the Bonavista Peninsula, on Newfoundland's east coast is Dungeon Provincial Park. There is a small trail that runs from the road through a large pasture (watch your step) to the sheer cliffs that line the shores of the Bonavista Bay. The rugged shoreline features many sea stacks, sea caves, whales, icebergs, and a great view of the lighthouse at Cape Bonavista. But, the most intriguing feature of this park is a large crater in the ground with two adjacent sea caves, that lead into the ocean.
